Elissa Winkler, Director

An established studio owner in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Elissa has worked with hundreds of students to hone and shape their musical skills. With over seventeen years of experiences as a voice and piano instructor, she blends bel canto technique and practical application, tailoring her instruction to each student’s individual needs.

While many students come to the studio to enrich their lives through music, some of Elissa’s students have made their way to the Broadway and Operatic stages and attended prestigious universities such as Boston Conservatory, NYU, Carnegie Mellon University, Point Park University and Baldwin Wallace University.

Elissa has vocal directed several musicals for students in elementary, middle and high school in the Pittsburgh area, including Les Miserables, Into The Woods, Seussical, Beauty And The Beast, Urinetown, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, and Children Of Eden.

Having received specialized training in early childhood music education, Elissa developed her own music curriculum, “Music in Motion”  for children ages birth through six. Her curriculum has been implemented in music schools and childcare centers around the Pittsburgh area.

Elissa also lends her hand to the choral arena, serving as both a soloist and conductor for student and adult choirs.

A mezzo-soprano, Elissa’s credits include roles in both the classical and musical theater genres, as well as a church soloist.

Elissa holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, Connecticut.
